Committe

The TCGB Committee is reviewed by election every year at the Annual General Meeting. If you wish to contact a specific member of the committee, please email the Secretary General stating ‘FAO Committee Member‘ (for attention of…) and your message will be forwarded accordingly.

President – Grandmaster Mark Biddlecombe (9th Dan).
Kukkiwon 1st Class Master’s Qualification.
Kukkiwon 1st Class Examiner’s Qualification.
– Kukkiwon World Leaders Forum Representative.

Club(s) – Southampton City Taekwondo.

Responsibilities – Direct and coordinate the external activities of the association. Represent the association on external bodies and chair meetings of the association and the committee. Act as head of team for international events and tournament director of TCGB National Championships. Initial arbitrator for any internal issues or disputes – convene disciplinary boards if and when required.

Vice-President – Grandmaster Lindsay Lawrence (9th Dan).

Club(s) – LLTKD, Kingston University.

Responsibilities – Coordinate certification with Chungdokwan Korea, Kukkiwon, British Taekwondo and the association. Checking, reviewing and processing applications and update records. Support and deputise for the President as and when required.

Technical Director – Master Dean Gibbs (6th Dan).

Club(s) – Chung Yong Taekwondo Academy.

Responsibilities – Standardise techniques, including poomsae and kibon. Organise and chair technical committee and lead TCGB seminars. Provide and maintain Dan grade syllabus. Organise the Dan Gradings and act as member of Dan grading panel (Kukkiwon 5th Dan holder). Maintain own technical standards and knowledge.

Treasurer – Master Lindsey Bell (4th Dan).

Club(s) – King’s Taekwondo.

Responsibilities – Ensure that the money and property of the association is properly managed. Processing all financial transactions and maintaining all appropriate financial records. As registrar, responsibilities are to process all British Taekwondo licences and maintain a register of members and Instructors. Also, to commence the handling of insurance applications and coordinate with British Taekwondo.

Club(s) – LLTKD, Kingston University.

Responsibilities – Convene meetings of the association, the committee and the AGM. Minute all meetings of the association. Coordinate the day-to-day operation of the association. Handling enquires from prospective new member clubs and students. Distribute details on association events. Coordinate International trips and visits by guest Instructors.

Welfare Officer – Master Steve Aldis (7th Dan).

Club(s) – Aldis Taekwondo Oxford.

Responsibilities – Assist association fulfil its responsibilities to safeguard children/vulnerable adults. Promote adherence of British Taekwondo Safeguarding Policy. Promote and ensure confidentiality is maintained. Facilitate DBS applications. Maintain own knowledge of safeguarding issues and keep up to date with good practice. Liaise with British Taekwondo and other relevant bodies. Work with clubs/support members of the association with issues of welfare and reporting.

Responsibilities – Convene tournament committee. Ensure that the TCGB National Championships and any other competition agreed by committee are adequately prepared. Coordinate the running of the tournament on the day.

Club(s) – Chung Yong Taekwondo Academy.

Responsibilities – Coordinate the running of Instructors training, seminars and workshops (with Technical Director). Liase with British Taekwondo on Instructor training. Ensure that Instructor Courses are run as and when required to enable all association instructors to meet the requirements of British Taekwondo. Evaluate future training requirements across all areas.

Publicity Officer – Master Richard Lymer (6th Dan).

Club(s) – South Bank Taekwondo.

Responsibilities – Collate and edit a quarterly TCGB newsletter. Design and arrange the printing of programmes and publicity for events. Liaise with potential sponsors. Maintain and update the official TCGB website.
